Class at Counterpoint Academy: Aug 2018
What do you think are the strengths of the Training Program?
Coming from a non computer science background, I was a little nervous at first that I would struggle to keep up with some of the other trainees; however, the program broke things down for me in a way that was easy to understand and learn. One of the best strengths of the program is the collaborative learning environment fostered in each training class which really allows you to dig deeper and broaden your understanding of the lesson.
Who is your mentor? What are some of the benefits of the mentor program?
Thanh is my mentor. The best benefit of the mentor program is having a resource within Counterpoint who you can reach out to with any questions you might have about anything Counterpoint related.
Class at Counterpoint Academy: Aug 2018
What do you think are the strengths of the Training Program?
I was a computer science major in college and the information I learned about software development was pretty theoretical and compartmentalized. Counterpoint's training program is great because it focuses on building a really strong foundation of working knowledge across the stack. For me, this helped fill in the gaps in my understanding of web development that I didn't realize existed until I was trained from a holistic perspective. Counterpoint trains you to be a full-stack developer.
Who is your mentor? What are some of the benefits of the mentor program?
Alex is my mentor. So far, the mentor program has been helpful for me in that it prescribes designated times for me to chat with a much more knowledgeable, senior employee about my career goals and any concerns I have had while transitioning from training to client project work.

Our culture is nothing short of phenomenal. Friendly, personable, and fun, but most importantly, the sense of camaraderie is strong here. I trust my coworkers to have my back.
How does Counterpoint's leadership enable you to do your job?
I think one of the best things I've seen from our leadership is that we are trusted to do our jobs. I never got the sense that I wasn't trusted to make significant decisions as a junior employee, and because of that, I feel comfortable making bigger decisions as a senior.
